Our team is seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer focused on the Software Security Portfolio for the U.S. Federal team. This position will primarily support the DevSecOps line of products, particularly Fortify. Sales Engineers act as the technical owner for their solution and assigned Federal Agencies. This role works independently of direct supervision with multiple account managers. Success of the individual in this role requires deep technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining expectations, as well as exceptional presentation skills. The candidate must be self-motivated and willing to exert technical leadership in the account base. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of security technology & solutions, with expertise in the area of application security, to include knowledge of programming languages such as Java, .Net or C/C++.

Job Responsibilities

·       Proactively gather and assess the business and technical needs of a customer to build a proposed customer solution

·       Identify opportunities for lead generation and work with Sales Account Manager to drive to closure of deals

·       Develop technical architectures and bill of materials to meet customer's business requirements

·       Present product features, updates, after action reports, and other technical and business solutions to audiences ranging from security staff to CxOs

·       Work with technical support, partners, and/or account managers to identify problem areas that require escalation and actively manage these events to closure, ensuring customer satisfaction

·       Actively support the account team with solution advice, proposals (RFP/RFI activities), presentations, and other customer communications, as well as analyzing and providing support to deals in the pipeline

·       Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, proposed solutions, and brown bag/ad-hoc training classes to current customer base

·       Develop and train peer engineers and account managers on new and emerging technologies in your assigned area of subject matter expertise through peer education programs

·       Deliver proof of concept systems to customers and demonstrate technical capabilities leveraging customer data

·       Actively identify opportunities to assist peers regionally in area of expertise (e.g., writing white-papers), as well as helping identify competitive threats

·       Maintain excellent communications with customer's executive management across the region

·       Represent company as technical expert in Software Security Assurance with customers and build customer loyalty through being a trusted advisor

Education and Experience

·       Technical University, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

·       U.S. Citizenship is required

·       U.S./DOD clearances are a plus

·       Experience in a presales technical role

·       Current security certification, such as CISSP, or willingness to achieve within one year of start date

·       Other certifications such as AWS, CEH, or SANS a plus

·       Proficient in Databases, Data Warehousing, Big Data, or Analytics

·       Experience selling technology (security) solutions within the U.S. Federal space

·       Experience in the U.S. Federal industry preferred

·       The candidate must be self-motivated and willing to exert technical leadership in the account base

·       Experience as a software developer working in a team that implements a robust SDLC process

·       Candidate must be open to travel

Knowledge and Skills

·       Demonstrates a broad knowledge of security technology & solutions, with deep expertise in the area of application security

·       Hands-on experience with static and dynamic application security testing solutions

·       Understanding and hands-on experience with databases, or data science related programming languages such as SQL, Python or R

·       Security Information & Event Management; Compliance Management knowledge is a plus

·       Leverages strong understanding of the industry and competitive landscape, including current trends, issues, and challenges

·       Establishes thought leadership in technical specialty area with customers

·       Understands the value of the solution in terms of financial return and impact on customer business goals

·       Possesses current security certification, such as CISSP, or is willing to achieve within one year of start date

·       Other certifications such as CSSLP, CSSLP, OSWE, C-WAST, GWEB, CAST, GSSP, GWAPT, and SANS certifications a plus
