Robert Makheja
President

Robert J. Makheja is a visionary leader and successful transformational entrepreneur whose experience spans across numerous industry endeavors, as well as being a leader in successful mergers and acquisitions among the largest Fortune 50 companies. He is highly recognized by the industry for leading large teams to solve complex customer problems, integrating large corporations and consistently exceeding business results.

Recently, Makheja was a critical part in leading the merger and integration of HPE Software with Micro Focus International (IPO NYSE MFGP Sept. 2017, LSE MFGP.L) for $8.8B, to become the seventh largest pure play software company globally. In 2018, he helped to build and became the President of MFGS, Inc., a U.S.-based and operated private firm, purpose-built, government compliant, and customer-centric enterprise software company providing end-to-end Micro Focus solutions that help U.S. Federal Government agencies solve mission-critical IT challenges.

Makheja was the co-founder of the private equity firm, RJM Capital, a leading investment firm that owns and manages multiple asset classes, including infrastructure, technology, biosciences, real estate and credit. He is also a Managing Partner at RJM and Associates, a premier legal advisory firm for business and technology. Robert and his wife remain committed to philanthropic giving, activities, and mentoring programs globally through their NEXTGEN charitable organization.

Early in his career, Makheja led in growing Peregrine Systems (NASD: PRGN), an enterprise software company based in California, and then was an integral part in the sale of the company to Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) for $425 million. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL) where he was recognized for both his stellar performance and ethical standards. Makheja has held other leadership positions at IBM, and Texas Instruments.

Makheja earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering from The George Washington University. He later went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Law (J.D.) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) as well as other advance education from Harvard Business School.

Jim Rittinger
Head of Legal & Compliance

Jim Rittinger oversees the company’s Legal, Contracts, and Compliance Departments and serves on the company’s Governance Committee.

Prior to assuming his role at MFGS, Inc., Rittinger was the Chief Legal Officer, Director and Corporate Secretary at Micro Focus Government Solutions. Rittinger also served as Acting President for the purpose of concluding the sale and transfer of Micro Focus Government Solutions’ secure assets and personnel to MFGS, Inc.

Rittinger came to Micro Focus from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he was a Vice President and Associate General Counsel responsible for managing the Legal and Contracts team supporting HPE’s multi-billion dollar U.S. Public Sector Enterprise Hardware and Software businesses. Rittinger had the same role at Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) prior to that company’s separation into Hewlett Packard, Inc. (HPI) and HPE. In his roles at HP and HPE, Rittinger was the legal leader for the U.S. public sector portions of HP’s separation and HPE’s spin-merge of its software business with MFI, including responsibility for obtaining requisite national security approvals, establishing the necessary contracting entities required by the NISPOM and other applicable laws and regulations, preparing the novation packages for all impacted contracts and partnering with customers to ensure timely government approval of the novations, designing the Legal, Contracts, Compliance and Security Departments and assigning personnel to the respective entities.

Prior to his work at HP and HPE, Rittinger was the Managing Legal Director and Corporate Secretary for Dell Services Federal Government, Inc. and Dell Federal, LLP, the multi-billion dollar federal contracting subsidiaries of Dell, Inc. Rittinger came to Dell in the course of the sale of Perot Systems, Inc., where Rittinger served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Perot Systems Government Services, Inc., a billion dollar SSA-excluded subsidiary of Perot Systems, Inc., providing professional, consulting and IT services to the federal government.

Prior to his in-house experience, Rittinger worked in the New York offices of several prominent AM Law 100 firms, most notably with Quinn Emanuel LLP. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles L. Brieant, U.S.D.J., Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the Honorable Mary Ellen Coster Williams of the United States Court of Federal Claims.

Rittinger graduated Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in History (Magna cum Laude) and the Fordham University School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor. He resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and three children.

Tyler Price
Head of Finance & Governance

Tyler Price oversees accounting, financial processes, business support, financial planning and analysis, reporting, payroll, and company cash flow. He also chairs the company’s Governance Committee.

Price has been an integral leader of multiple integrations that ultimately led to the creation of MFGS, Inc. These integrations have allowed companies to increase the size and scope of business focused on providing enterprise software and support to the U.S. federal government. Price supported the hiring of key personnel, developed core business processes, and established dashboards and KPIs to drive business results and profitability while optimizing cash flow.

Price has over 20 years of experience building and leading finance teams in global companies with complex business models, mergers, and acquisitions, integrating and divesting companies, and establishing best-in-class practices through robust analysis, strategic planning, and process development and optimization.

Prior to joining MFGS, Inc., Price was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a founding executive for Micro Focus Government Solutions. Price led divestiture and integration activities stemming from the spin-out of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) Software Division and was on the Board of Director’s Audit & Compensation Committees at Micro Focus. As CFO for the Americas Software region at HPE, Price oversaw annual revenues of over $2 billion. He was also the Sr. Director of Finance for the Big Data Software & SaaS business, which became the top performing software business in the company, and the Sr. Finance Manager of the Enterprise Security Software Division, where he led the successful integration of several company acquisitions. Price also oversaw finance for the Enterprise Services Division where he helped build a services business focused on delivering solutions from numerous low-cost locations around the world.

Price began his career at Hewlett-Packard Co. as a Sr. Financial Analyst supporting new product introductions in the Storage Solutions Division.

Price earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Brigham Young University. He also earned a Certificate in Leadership & Innovation from Stanford University. He resides in California with his wife and their five children.

Kathy Buyna
Head of Support Renewals

Kathy Buyna oversees MFGS, Inc.’s renewal business including the support renewals and the renewal operations organizations. Buyna was an essential leader and organizer of the creation of MFGS, Inc. and has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, including leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard and Micro Focus Government Solutions.

She resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina with her family.

Bill Bacci
Head of Sales and Engineering

Bill Bacci oversees new license sales, first year support, and technical sales engineering for all government secure accounts. He has over 30 years of experience leading technical and sales teams in global companies with complex business models. Bacci has been an integral leader in many different roles across Hewlett Packard, Micro Focus, and MFGS, Inc. He currently supports all license revenue, hires key personnel, and provides integrated solutions for customers.

Prior to joining MFGS, Inc., Bacci served as the DOD and Intel Sales Manager for Micro Focus Government Solutions and helped lead the merge of the entire secure sales team into the company.

Bacci also previously served as the Sales Vice President for Hewlett Packard and the Chief Technology Officer for Hewlett Packard’s Government Division, helping to double sales through technology evangelism and introducing new technology into the government sector. He also ran the professional services team where he successfully developed the introduction of commercial best practices into the federal space.

Bacci began his career at Citicorp Consumer banking as Vice President for global communications, leading projects that rolled out global banking networks, application modernizations, and structuring.

Bacci earned a Bachelor of Science from Iona College and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Marymount University. He also earned a CISSP and ITIL Master. He resides in Virginia with his wife and their three children.

Christine Hand
Head of Marketing

Christine Hand is responsible for leading all digital, social, corporate, and field marketing programs supporting MFGS, Inc.’s go-to-market strategy and execution. Coming from a military family she is passionate about how technology supports and enables the mission of the U.S. Federal Government.

Hand was an essential leader in the creation of MFGS, Inc., creating and building the company brand and supporting the overall organizational design of the company. She has been a part of the integration management team and customer experience throughout the transition.

Hand’s background includes over 10 years of expertise in public sector marketing. Prior to joining MFGS, Inc., she was a part of the integration management team during the spin-merge of HPE Software and Micro Focus International (IPO NYSE MFGP, Sept 2017) and served as marketing director for the U.S. Public Sector team at Micro Focus Government Solutions. Previously, Hand held positions as the marketing director for the software field marketing team at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as well as other marketing positions with Hewlett Packard focusing on the public sector as well as commercial markets.

Hand is a graduate of Minot State University, where she double-majored in business management and international business. She resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter.

Liz Van Hazinga
Head of Operations

Elizabeth Van Hazinga oversees all operational activities, including performance management, business planning and analysis, forecasting, and process optimization. She is also a member of the company’s Governance Committee. Van Hazinga brings 20 years of operations and finance experience to MFGS, Inc. She is a proven, trusted advisor and leader in the development and implementation of operational strategy, with experience across several major mergers and acquisitions.

Van Hazinga was an instrumental leader in the creation of MFGS, Inc., serving as project manager and overseeing the organizational design and operating structure used during the spinout, launch, and integration phases of the company across 2018 and 2019. Following the creation of the company, she oversaw the development of standardized processes and performance reporting across all lines of business and continues to serve as a key member of the organization’s governance committee. In April of 2019, Van Hazinga was recognized with the President’s Star Eagle Award for her leadership.

Prior to joining MFGS, Inc., Van Hazinga served as Operations Manager for the Americas during the merger of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Micro Focus, where she designed and implemented standard forecasting and planning processes and tools across multiple business units and geographies. Additionally, she spent many years as a finance manager supporting the Americas Network, Alliances, and Strategic Account business segments at Hewlett Packard in devising sales coverage strategies, minimizing field selling costs, and maximizing quarterly revenue.

Van Hazinga holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Assumption College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She lives in central Massachusetts with her husband and their three children.

Elizabeth Hellman
Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations

Elizabeth Hellman oversees all corporate relations for MFGS, Inc., including internal communications, PR, employee engagement and personnel matters. She has nearly 10 years of experience managing corporate functions and improving employee experience.

Hellman was an integral leader during the numerous merge phases of MFGS, Inc., being part of the integration management team and leading employee onboarding and engagement, as well as operational processes and planning. Hellman was instrumental in building the cultural of MFGS, Inc. and laying groundwork for the company’s philanthropic efforts.

Prior to joining MFGS, Inc., Hellman oversaw branding and content creation for the marketing team at Micro Focus Government Solutions. She led re-branding efforts of company materials following the spin-merge of Hewlett Packard Enterprise to Micro Focus, and was responsible for the creation of all marketing content for the Government space. She also held project management positions at USA TODAY where she led mobile application product development and audience acquisition efforts. Before that role, Hellman served as the marketing team lead on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise account at Carahsoft Technology Corporation.

Hellman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising from Penn State University. She resides in Fairfax, Virginia.

Duane Pfister
Head of Security

Duane Pfister is responsible for overseeing all company facilities and personnel security measures, including all security details of classified programs supporting the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD). He also supports the processing of clearances for multiple agencies and ensures company adherence to Federal Security regulations, policies, and procedures.

Pfister was instrumental in supporting the stand-up and build-out of the MFGS, Inc. facility, as well as working with multiple government customers and MFGS, Inc. Contracts Department to assist the transfer of classified contracts and employee clearances.

Pfister has nearly 25 years of government contracting experience, working with companies like Lockheed Martin, ManTech, SpecTal, SIG, Triple, Canopy and Constellis Group. Pfister has overseen security management, badging, physical security, and program security.

He holds certifications in the following areas: Security Specialist, Terrestrial COMSEC Management, Industrial Special Security Administration, Adjudicator Course and a Facility Security Officer Certification.

Prior to his corporate career, Pfister served as a Security Specialist in the United States Air Force. He attended Northern Virginia Community College where he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. He currently lives in Virginia with his family and enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs.
