The Sales Specialist will support business development efforts in nurturing our customers across the secure U.S. Federal Government accounts. This role collaborates with and supports our Account Managers, works closely with the Alliance team, and professional services when delivering at customer sites. The goals of this role are to expand our current install base, create customer satisfaction, and help influence the customer in setting RFx strategies. This person also drives proactive campaigns by interfacing with marketing. This role spans the Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community.

Job Responsibilities

·       Identify new project strategies, seek out new opportunities within existing accounts, and build pipeline within key product sets

·       Maintains knowledge of competitors to strategically position the company’s products and services better

·       Develop pursuit plans and manage the pipeline to ensure alignment with account managers

·       Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry

·       Contributes to proposal development, negotiations, and deal closings

·       Work closely with and support account managers, providing technical expertise and support, and participating in client engagements up to C- level engagements for more complex solutions in smaller accounts

·       Interface with both internal and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.

·       Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curve through effective knowledge transfer in area of specialization

·       Set direction for business development and solution replication

·       Strategic planning on a business development level; can build an effective business case reflecting the value of an appropriate strategy

Knowledge and Skills

·       Enhance knowledge on product sets to be able to sell your portfolio of products

·       Understand the needs for the DOD, and integrate this knowledge into consultative selling

·       Negotiates and drives deals to ensure successful close

·       Uses client engagement skills in collaboration with account leads to propose expansive systems or service solutions to client

·       Leadership and initiative in successfully driving specialty sales in accounts – prospecting, negotiating and closing deals

·       Translate product knowledge into customer’s added business value

·       Ability to take a deal through the U.S. Government sales cycle including closing or supporting the close of a deal

·       Understand the channel and work an effective plan to increase sales with our partners

Impact/Scope

·       Should coordinate internal and external partners to deliver appropriate solution sale

·       Establishes relationships with customer/partner at all organizational levels; able to interface with senior levels in internal and external groups

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree preferred / directly related previous work experience

·       Demonstrated success in achieving progressively higher quota

·       Selling into the U.S. Government and Integrators required

·       Typically 5-8 years advanced sales experience required

·       DOD Clearance a plus
